12/31/2008 New Years12/28/2008 Christmas is over. All of us got everything we wanted, I think. Probably way more than we needed for sure. We have felt a little more insulated from the recent economic downturn since I got my part time job. I didn't cut back at all on Christmas, but neither did we save any of the money from my check (however small it may be). But now that the holiday is over, I really need to get back in the habit of putting my check into savings and NOT touching it.
Going to Rhinerson's again for new years, to hang out with them and the Kindschi's as we have done each year. That should be fun.
12/18/2008 SnowMore snow for us today. up to 8" are possible on top of a layer of ice to fall overnight. Our town isn't so great at plowing, so it's anyones guess as to whether I will be going to work tomorrow (Or Tim for that matter). I am nearly positive Payton won't have school. The farmer's almanac claimed we would have a snowy cold winter this year and so far we are on track for that.
Today I got in a cleaning mood because I bought myself a new mop. Then I find out from a co-worker what I really need is a STEAM mop. I checked into them online and they cost between $80 - $100, so I think that will have to wait. For now, my new mop is working fine. After I got done mopping the kitchen I turned my attention to Payton's room and I re-arranged furniture (with Payton's help of course). Sometimes change can be refreshing.
![]() 12/14/2008 SickPayton and I are both sick with fevers and colds, but it hasn't been so bad really. I don't feel sick, and Payton doesn't act sick, but he did break out in fever blisters all around his mouth which is a good sign. Glad I don't have that particular problem.
He has a doctor visit tomorrow, but Tim is taking him to that and I am going to work.
And there isn't anything good to eat in the house because I finished the left over pizza for lunch. So I am not sure what to do about that. If I lived near any sort of city I'd go get a sub sandwich.
Check out this guys' other pictures of his beehive problem http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=696164
12/9/2008 WorkI guess it has been awhile since I wrote anything. I went to Des Moines Friday and Saturday because I was doing my annual Christmas Lunch with Wendy and Danielle. I stayed over Friday night with Katie and her roommate Justine. I was glad I was able to stay over because I would not have liked driving to and from Des Moines in one day. Saturday evening I had a Christmas Party for work. We only stayed until 9:30, mostly because neither Tim nor I really knew anyone there. I know I WORK there, but there are 4 different buildings and I hardly see anyone but the small core of people cloisered back by my office. Most employees have some sort of lab job where they are back in an area somewhat quarantined. ANYWAY.... Speaking of work, I asked for more things to do because I was running out and they gave me a very boring job of doing an inventory of Homeopathic bottles in the compounding lab. It is boring tedious work to be sure and will take about a month but the people that work in that room keep it somewhat entertaining. AND I have the benefit of learning a new aspect of this business. Today when I finished up in the lab and came back to my office, and my supervisor told me they had a different job for me to do I wasn't disappointed though. I need a break. But after this new assignment it's back to bottle counting for me I am afraid.
